Consistent ongoing development of existing products is an important credo of REGATRON. The wide range of applications of the well proven REGATRON TC.ACS grid simulator series was able to be extended with specialised additional systems and functions for use in the field of EMC testing (electromagnetic compatibility).
Depending on the scope of equipment, two different areas of EMC testing can thus be covered:
For the determination of harmonics, the spectral purity of the generator is of crucial importance. In the TC.ACS grid simulator, a newly developed control algorithm ensures an almost perfect sinusoidal shape of the 1- and 3-phase voltages in EMC mode, thus enabling qualified measurements of harmonic spectra generated by the DUT. Depending on the power analyzer used, measurements from the mA range up to 75 A per phase are possible.
If the above EMC configuration is additionally equipped with a robust flicker impedance, voltage fluctuations and flicker on the power grid caused by the DUT can be determined. REGATRON's TC.FLK flicker impedance network offers not only a high, standard-compliant load capacity under continuous operation @ 3 x 75 A phase current, but also a simple switchover from Zref to Ztest, thus enabling the determination of all relevant measurement parameters related to the grid impedance.
For the EMC tests described, REGATRON offers both the individual components or a completely equipped turnkey EMC package comprising the following components:
Legend: Final work is being carried out on the newly developed flicker impedance from Regatron. The combination of the 50 kVA / 75 A TC.ACS grid simulator (left-hand switch cabinet) and the new flicker impedance offers standard-compliant testing of flicker values in accordance with IEC/EN 61000-3-3 and IEC/EN 61000-3-11. The TC.ACS unit is supplemented here by the TC.VSE switching unit and ensures that rise and fall times of up to 5 µs are adhered to and thus standard-compliant tests in accordance with IEC/EN 61000-4-X can be carried out.
