Many years of field experience and the knowledge gained from our constant proximity to renowned end users have gone into the development of the new G5.BAS Battery Simulator Series.
The G5.BAS series realistically and dynamically simulates both the electro-chemical and electrical properties of a battery type in charge and discharge mode. Other features include very high resolution of charge/discharge voltage and current, high system dynamics, and options for meeting high safety standards for operators.
The powerful real-time computing process and the integrated Application Software BatSim are synchronized with the internal timing of the DC power supply – the key to high system dynamics and stability, even in the case of steep changes in charge/discharge currents. Each battery type reacts in a specific manner to charge and discharge currents in terms of cell voltage, state of charge, ohmic and parametric losses, and polarization effects. These dependencies are considered by specific mathematical models used in the REGATRON BatSim software/firmware. The operator can fine tune the model with several well-defined parameters to adjust the simulation to the user's requirement. Long-term data recording and recall of battery values are available within the BatSim application software.
The DC power supplies of the G5.BAS series are bidirectional regenerative. Features such as adjustable controller settings and the integrated powerful 8-channel digital scope assist the user to quickly and easily achieve optimal system behavior for a special application requirement. The G5.BAS series also offers the possibility to store, edit and recall any device configuration on board the power supply.
The following battery type models are available for configuration: Li-ion, Lead-acid, NiMH, and NiCd.
G5.BAS Battery Simulators range from 0...18 kW to 0...2400+ kW, 0...500 VDC to 0...1500 VDC. Higher voltages are available. REGATRON's modular concept allows the system to be easily adapted to ever changing test requirements. Not only is it possible to reconfigure between parallel, series, and mixed operation, but also to expand the system with additional power supply units or to split it into smaller units.
