REGATRON power supply solutions have been excelling for almost three decades with their precision, modularity, and renowned durability. These features, combined with state-of-the-art network technologies, also paved the way for REGATRON power supplies to enter the high-power application sector. REGATRON's high-power solutions are known to fully meet the stringent requirements of various user groups such as test and research labs, certification and approval providers, scientific institutes, grid operators, and manufacturers. A high number of REGATRON DC power supplies, ranging from several hundred kilowatts up to 1.4 MW, have been successfully in operation all over the world, many of them for more than 10 years.

The successful launch of the G5 product family in 2020 marks the next step in the development of medium to high-power systems in the range up to several megawatts. The first of such systems have already been delivered or have been ordered. For customers, a decisive criterion for choosing REGATRON-G5 solutions is that the dynamic system characteristics above 2 MW are almost the same as those of a 54 kW single unit.

 

Powerful High-Speed Communication Bus

  • Ultra-fast system dynamics: response time < 50 µs for a load change -540...+540 kW with quadrant crossover
  • Firmware upgrades and incident/fault analysis are conveniently handled by the master unit for the entire master-slave system.

Modular Approach

REGATRON's G5 power supplies are available in both unidirectional (source or sink) and bidirectional versions. The sink mode is always regenerative. The powerful Operating and Service Software G5.Control with a built-in 8-channel recording scope is included as standard. The configuration of the high-power system can be focused on a specific application e.g., Battery Simulation, Battery Testing, or PV Simulation. However, the system can also be configured as multi-purpose universal power supply e.g., G5.RSS or G5.UNV. This allows to conduct research and testing across different applications with one versatile programmable power supply.
REGATRON also offers the appropriate test equipment for the mains side of the devices under test: REGATRON's Grid Simulators of the TC.ACS series are full 4-quadrant regenerative 3-phase AC sources, ranging from 30 kVA to 2.4 MVA
