Who We Are

Founded in 1969, REGATRON is a globally active company in the electronics industry. As an independent, family-owned business, we specialize in the development, manufacturing, and international distribution of power supply and drive technology solutions. Over the years, we have grown steadily and now employ around 200 staff members, including 10 apprentices. In addition to our headquarters in Rorschach, Switzerland, we maintain subsidiaries in East Brunswick, NJ (USA), and Rankweil, Austria. We are known for our strong engineering culture and long-term partnerships – both with sales partners and end customers – reflecting our lasting commitment to quality, performance, and customer satisfaction.

What We Offer

REGATRON provides a broad range of programmable DC and AC power supplies. These units form the core of scalable systems used worldwide in research, development, testing, and production – especially in fields such as renewable energy, power conversion, energy storage, smart grids, charging infrastructure, and electric vehicles. Our power supplies are also trusted in specialized applications such as surface technology and charging of batteries in military systems. In combination with application software and – upon request – complete control cabinet integration, REGATRON delivers modular, fully integrated solutions from a single source. System power ranges from 10 to 5000+ kW or 30 to 5000+ kVA.

Our History

Since its founding in 1969, REGATRON has played a pioneering role in power electronics, contributing key technological advancements that helped shape the industry. In the 1970s, we introduced excitation-controlled asynchronous drives; in the 1980s, the first transistorized inverter drives; and in the 1990s, fully digitally controlled programmable DC power supplies. In the 2000s, we developed and introduced bidirectional, regenerative DC power supplies. We followed up in the 2010s with a full 4-quadrant regenerative 3-phase AC source/sink series. And in the early 2020s, we took another major step forward with a new family of high-performance, application-specific DC power supplies – setting new benchmarks in performance, dynamic control response, configurability, and system integration. These milestones reflect our long-standing commitment to technological excellence and customer-focused solutions.
